Can a rhinoplasty cause trouble swallowing?

Rhinoplasty itself should not cause any trouble with swallowing. However, there are several things that could have contributed to the development of this issue. For example you may have some swelling or something from the intubation from the procedure or you may just have some reflux causing some issues. Regardless, I recommend that you get this area checked out. If your surgeon has training as an otolaryngologist (ENT doctor), they may have the proper scope to check your throat out. If your surgeon was a general plastic surgeon, they can give you some recommendations on an otolaryngologist who could evaluate you.

The rhinoplasty procedure should not affect your swallowing.  That being said, it is possible you have some type of swelling or injury to your throat that was sustained during intubation or something completely unrelated to the surgery is going on.  It is best if you have this evaluated by your doctor.
