Did I receive a botched breast reduction? (Photo)

Question

I had a breast reduction from a board certified surgeon about four months ago. My insurance covered the costs. I am a bit worried that things did not turn out the way that they should have, especially with the right breast although my surgeon said I am healing fine. I had large, drooping breast before surgery but they were round and normal looking unlike now.

Dear ps1111, thank you for submitting ypur question. No you did not receive a botched breast reduction.  In only looking at your one photo, it seems that you had  vertical breast reduction and you have some infrrammary fold fullness or lax skin.  Liposuction willl correct the fullness and if it is skin laxity then a wedge skin excison will correct. Both issues can be easily corrected.  Please visit your Plastic Surgeon and discuss your concerns.  Best wishes.

Thank you for your picture. I'm not really sure why you have that contour abnormality of your left breast. It's been four months it is unlikely that that will have significant improvement. You might be a consideration for fat grafting to that area to improve the contour. Please speak with your plastic surgeon about treatment options.

Thanks for your question.  I think without seeing a before photo it's hard to tell.  In general with questions like these I strongly recommend patients seek the advice of the surgeon who peformed the procedure.  Another option is to seek an in person second opinion.  Best to you.  -Dr. Coan
