How many pulses are the industry standard for 1 laser genesis session, full face?

Question

I got 4 treatments they ver very short (10mins) compared to what I'm used to. The aesthetician finally admitted she does 5,000 pulses but at a higher setting, 16 so it's the same thing. In the past, my treatments have always been 10,000 pulses. Can someone please explain to me if this is normal? I feel like I got ripped off I looked at the laser genesis cutera operating instructions and it says treatments are 8,000-10,000 pulses at 12-18 joules/cm2 so I'm thinking it's not congruent at all.

While every technician has his or her own technique , I am someone who believes in following the treatment protocol set by the company which is 8,000 -- 10,000 pulses. Hope this helps.

There are obviously different treatment techniques but the regular treatment protocols set by the company are about 8000-10000 pulses and about 14j average. You raise or lower the joule energy depending on the skin type and other procedures done too. But if someone ONLY comes to my office for Laser Genesis and no other lasers or machines are used in conjunction, then I'd stick with what I said above. Personally I am against raising energies and lowering pulse counts as it can lead to burns or other issues. The two things aren't necessarily the same when you get down to the science of laser energy. "This
