PRP injection in tear trough? How many treatments do I need?

Question

I heard this helps with skin texture in the eyelid and skin under eye in general. What happens after the injection? I know filler in this area lasts up to a year, how about PRP, how long does it take the body to absorb the injected PRP in this area? how many treatments do I need? is there a recurring maintenance afterwards?

We actually find that PRP works best when used in tandem with other treatments like fillers and microneedling or ProFractional. I would meet with a certified and reputable injector or board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss the correct path of approach for you. Thank you for your question. Fillers like Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind that a combination approach will give the most improvement. My patients try to get non-surgical treatments to avoid surgery, so we use fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP and stem cells. Typically multiple treatments of the PRP injections are needed, spaced a few weeks apart, though it is difficult to fully assess your needs without pictures. It would help if you had posted a photo. Usually a couple of PRP treatments spread out every couple of weeks would be good. PRP is quickly reabsorbed and it's affects take time to manifest depending on what is being treated?

PRP gets absorbed fairly fast, in a week or less. Some doctors feel that maintenance is critical and repeated PRP is needed to maintain benefits
