What are the pros and cons of PRP injections vs PRP topical after microneedling?

Hello, I understand the benefits of PRP, but can someone explain to me the benefits of doing PRP injections (under the eye for example) vs using topical PRP after microneedling?

Hi, applying PRP with or right after a micro needling procedure is a great way to get the growth factors to penetrate the skin through the little micro channels created by the needling. However, as you can imagine, the PRP can get only so deep into the skin. Injecting the PRP allows a much greater volume and deeper penetration of the growth factors. The micro needling inflames the skin and causes the injected PRP to become activated and release growth factors into the skin. If your provider offers injection with the topical application, I would definitely do both!

Thank you for your message! PRP with microneedling is a great option. The microneedling creates micro-injuries within the skin which help to stimulate collagen and elastin growth. Working PRP into the skin will help boost results through the growth factors in the PRP. After the microneedling procedure, PRP can be applied on the face as well!

In theory, microneedling will cause inflammation from the wounds it creates making PRP more effective; however, I don't believe there is any basis for this theory
