What are the pro and cons of botox?

There are many "pros" to Botox and very few "cons" which makes this treatment so popular!  It is a simple procedure done in the office.  It has no downtime.  Complications from treatment are very rare.  The final results are seen within 2 weeks and the product gradually fades over 3-4 months.  Risks are low, but some include bruising, eyelid drooping, and swelling at injection site.

Botox when done right gives amazing softening of movement wrinkles.  If dont poorly can cuase a change in expression or a fake look or change in the eyebrow or eye shape.  Please see an expert.  Any results you do not like will be back to normal 2-4 months after injections.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Botox is an incredible product with a good safety profile when injected by a properly trained physician/nurse.Its benefits are that it works and takes effect rather quickly, 3-7 days.  It can be used to treat creases and wrinkles, in addition to migraines and sweating.  The cons are that there can be a list of side effects, most are minor such as swelling, redness and headaches.  Some others are the botox affecting muscle and paralyzing the unintended muscles.  In such cases the effects are limited and transient.Hope that helps.
