I am planning a round 2 BBL and I am interested in adding skin tightening to my procedure. Is J Plasma / Renuvion similar to BodyTite? Or is one superior and more effective? I have no skin laxity this is preventative. Thank you.
Answer: Is J Plasma / Renuvion similar to BodyTite? Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist. In terms of similarities between the two tightening devices, both utilize a radio frequency that creates heat underneath the skin, in our office we use J-plasma/Renuvion and have seen great results. Without photos/or and in person examination I wouldn't be able to tell you if you would benefit from either, If you say have no laxity to your skin their would be no need. I suggest you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in this procedure who could give you an in person consultation and give your more information . I hope that helps! Answer: Is J Plasma / Renuvion similar to BodyTite? Hello, thank you for your question. BodyTite is a minimally-invasive body contouring procedure that utilizes radio-frequency assisted lipolysis. It combines two successful technologies into a double-duty procedure that reduces fat while simultaneously tightening the skin. Liposuction with J-Plasma is also a minimally invasive procedure that uses a device to deliver “helium plasma” energy through tiny incisions to the undersurface of the skin.

Answer: Round 2 BBL and Renuvion vs BodyTite. If you have no skin laxity then you have no need for J Plasma/Renuvion or BodyTite, period. Furthermore, if and when round 2 BBL provides you with insufficient results, you might want to consider a more reliable and permanent option with buttock implants. Glad to be of help

Answer: Skin tightening If there is no skin laxity, adding a tightening procedure is adding unnecessary risk to the surgery. If you have previously had liposuction, there will be some scar tissue and VASER would likely be beneficial. However, both BodyTite and Renuvion may add risks of increased swelling and scar tissue, as well as increased time under anesthesia. As far as the difference, both tighten skin. Renuvion is faster, but is more technique (surgeon) dependent, while BodyTite has more established treatment parameters and is more reproducible but takes longer.

Answer: Is J Plasma / Renuvion similar to BodyTite? If you do not have any skin laxity, and your PS does not think that more liposuction will lead to skin laxity, then I would not recommend a preventative skin tightening procedure. Both the BodyTite and Reunion use radio frequency heat to cause fibrosis and therefore skin tightening. I personally use the Reuvion in my practice and have seen some really amazing results.
