Question

Non-surgical nose job with restalyn plus immediate dull pain, stiffness, bruising, redness + swelling. The doctor pricked me about 20 times. Is this bruising due to hitting a nerve or is this normal? I do feel pain at rest but nothing extreme mainly stiffness & dull pain, only time it's very bad is if I flare my nose or touch it. It also looks uneven but he said this is swelling yet doesn't seem to hands on so I am concerned. I also feel random pains on the sides of my face. Thoughts?

You're a doctor prick the area 20 times because he was concerned about your pain during the procedure. That red area could be from the additional needle sticks. It's not clear from your narrative, how long ago your procedure took place. If this is an immediate after, I think most of your symptoms will go away with time. The redness may indicate intravascular occlusion or blood vessels compression and I suggest you see your physician right away. If necessary, this can be reversed with hyaluronidase and should be treated with topical vasodilators (nitropaste) as prevention. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hey BeautifullyBare, thank you for your enquiry.  Judging by your question and the photos it is likely that one of the many injections compressed a small blood vessel that runs in that area or hurt a vessel hence the redness and swelling. The small nerves that run alongside some these veins can cause the sharp lancinating pains you are you experiencing at times too. It is best you return to your injector or seek a new expert opinion, you might need to take some aspirin, start warm compresses, reversal of the filler with Hyaluronidase and possibly start some antibiotics.
