I have wanted a nose job since I was a kid, but I'm not the best judge of my own looks. I feel like it's too big/hooked for my face and that it makes me look older (I'm 25 and people seem to think I am in my thirties, but I have no wrinkles and I use retin-a). However, I have never had any cosmetic procedures so I only want to get a nose job if my nose is actually a big problem- if it's only slightly imperfect, or on the prominent side, that's fine. So, just how bad is it?
Answer: Is my nose too big for my face? The answer to your question is impossible to give on this forum. Facial proportions must be judged by personal examination and proper photography. While the photographs you provided are helpful, a personal consultation about rhinplasty, including computer simulations of how it might look on you, would help you answer the real question, which is "Is a rhinoplasty the right operation for me".I would recommend you visit with an experienced, ethical rhinoplasty surgeon to discuss this.I hope this helps!Best,Dr. Most

Answer: Nose too big for face After reviewing your photos, I believe that you are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. Subtle refinements can give you a beautiful, natural, feminine nose. I recommend seeking out a Board-Certified plastic or facial plastic surgeon who will accurately examine your nose, create a "simulation" that will allow you to see what your nose COULD look like after surgery, and formulate a plan tailored to your wishes. Good luck!

Answer: Possible rhinoplasty As has been echoed by surgeons before me, changing the shape of your nose is a personal decision based upon many factors. People have been brainwashed through the media on what constitutes a "pretty" face. In many cultures, smaller or more petite isn't necessarily thought of as attractive.Looking at your photos, I see a slightly high bridge with a bump. However, it still looks good with the shape of your face and other features. Certainly, rhinoplasties can be subtle or dramatic depending on the patient's wishes. You might want to see several surgeons experienced in rhinoplasty procedures and look at their before and after's. They may even be able to do computer imaging to see if the changes would be something you really want.

Answer: Is my nose really big for my face, does it make me look old, and is it worth getting fixed? No one ever "needs" a rhinoplasty. It is an elective procedure and only you can determine if your nasal features concern you enough to do something about improving the cosmetic appearance of your nose and whether it would be worthwhile. Following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examiningyou, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon with extensive nasal surgery experience who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Additional information about the procedure will help you decide if it is a procedure that you want to pursue.
