Also, when reducing the dorsal hump, how common is it for a lateral osteotomy to be performed as well? Just asking as i've noticed when i'm looking at my profile, the right side looks seamless yet when i'm looking at the left side, the bone juts out a little bit. Not sure whether this is from swelling or from nothing being done to the width of the nasal bone.

Usually at three months tenderness should have resolved but sometimes in cases like yours this can be prolonged. It is usual for a lateral osteotomy to be performed at the same time as a dorsal hump reduction.   It can take time for the tissues and the bone to completely settle after surgery and improvement continues for up to a year. At the moment you simply need to be patient and keep in touch with your surgeon for reassurance.In my practice I use a piezotome to perform the osteotomies and bony reshaping. This technique which is called ultrasonic rhinoplasty minimises bruising, swelling and trauma  during the surgery and helps to reduce the inflammation which can give rise to some of the problems similar to what you are describing.

Yes, this can be typical. It's still too soon to tell what your final results will be. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose take its time to heal. I hope this helps.

Yes, it can be common to still feel soreness along the nasal bones from the osteotomies that were completed. You may also have swelling around the bones as they continue to heal. I would touch base with your surgeon at your next followup and address any concerns with him or her.
