Dear Doctors What do you think about the nanofat graft procedure for dark circles? I read is specified for rejuvanate periorbital area cause of a higher concentration of stem cells and growht factors in thin fat than the ordinary fat graft.
Answer: Nanofat grafting That’s a great question. Fat grafting has been embraced by many plastic surgeons, including use in the lower lids. As for my opinion, I remain unimpressed and very skeptical about the promises and hype and would encourage you to be skeptical as well, especially any improvements resulting from so called stem cell or growth factors. I have seen virtually nothing to convince me of its merits and certainly would not spend a large amount of money on it.

Answer: Nanofat under eyes Nanofat to the lower eyelids is an especially rejuvenative procedure because it provides both volume and growth factors to the thin skin surrounding it! To ensure you are receiving the highest level of care, seek out a modernly trained, new-school dermatologic surgeon, oculoplastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who is board certified and fellowship trained in one of these “core four” cosmetic specialties. Membership in organizations like the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery help to identify a highly trained surgeon. Cameron Chesnut #realself500 Physician

Answer: Nanofat grafting or filler for dark circles? There are pros and cons to each treatment. Dark circles are also not all created equal. In general, filler is more predictable. If there is actual fat bags present, then lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning is ideal. See following video and website link.
