Should I use minoxidil and finasteride after FUE or is finasteride alone enough?

Question

I'm 30 and I have had 1,200 grafts placed in my hairline. I started taking finasteride a month before my procedure and will continue to do so going forward. Should I also use minoxidil? Or is that only to regrow hair? If so, then since I have the hair I want now, do I not need to use it? I know it should be used twice a day, but what if I do once a day? Or miss a day here and there? Would it be better to not use at all if I can't do twice a day religiously? Thanks in advance for your input!

After a FUE hair transplant, you do not need to use finasteride or minoxidil. Normally it is best to use the supplements unless your hair specialist suggest the use of finasteride and minoxidil then you can use it.

I would continue the finasteride since you were taking it before. The minoxidil is optional. Since it needs to be rubbed in I reccommend that it i not used for two weeks but then it can be resumed. The idea is to maximize everything you have! Hope that helps

Honestly, if you’re using finasteride consistently, there is no reason for you to use minoxidil.  If you want to try something different to maximize the maintenance of your hair, look into a laser cap or PRP injections.

I highly recommend using Finasteride as it will help you to stop losing more hair. Minoxidil is hard for most people to keep up with because it does need to be used 2 times per day. You also should not use Minoxidil for at least 1 month following a hair transplant.
