Wonderful question. Microneedling can stimulate collagen regeneration and when combined with PRP it can improve scars in a variety of skin types. This includes acne scars, chickenpox scars and surgical scars. It can also rejuvenate and tighten the skin - thus making it firmer. The expectations of treatment are pinpoint bleeding and localized irritation. Side effects are rare when the correct technique is used.
Every microneedling treatment creates controlled points of injury that will cause skin to repair, replace and return to more normal appearance. That being said, I do not ever promote microneedling as a treatment for sagging skin. Delivery of radiofrequency in a microneedling event with a system called Infini can significantly improve sagging skin. Other systems that can help sagging skin include Thermi and Ultherapy. The ultimate fix is surgical, but these systems can postpone the need for surgery for up to 10 years.
Microneedling has been a very desirable treatment for many due to the amazing results with little downtime. Microneedling also known as CIT (Collagen Induction Therapy) is a controlled injury to the skin. The skin needs collagen to heal, after the skin has been injured with the needling, the skin starts repairing with the collagen boost leaving your skin tighter, smoother, firmer, and rejuvenated!! Depending on the laxity in the skin, additional treatment such a laser skin tightening may help improve your overall results.
Microneedling done regularly will firm the skin. However, if there is too much sagging, you may need combination treatments such as noninvasive Ultherapy or less invasive ThermiTight. If there is oo much laxity, surgical intervention like facelift. Dr H Karamanoukian #RealSelf100 Member
Absolutely. Regular micro needling can stimulate collagen, tightening the skin. Energy based insulated RF micro needling provides the very best results, with minimal downtime. I have never had a patient peeling 2 weeks after microneedling. I suggest seeing an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer.
Most patients in our practice see results after even one treatment or 4 weeks later. Results continue to improve after each treatment. For results to be noticeable, the procedure needs to be done aggressively. Many patients come to our office feeling discourage because they had the proc...
Microneedling doesn't hurt the hair follicles, it can help them. I suggest you see an expert for treatment. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for sharing your question. Without photos or an in person evaluation it is not possible to determine the appropriate treatment approach for you. Typically, a combination approach is best and would give the most impressive results. See an experienced oculofacial surgeon for...
