I've heard conflicting info as to what is best for these horrible crepey skin issues under my eyes. I'm 39 and these eyes make me feel like I'm 60. I'm not ready for a bleph (surgery) yet - don't want to go under the knife. Would microneedling work? Lasers? Looking for non-invasive help with these tired, old looking eyes.
Answer: A light cO2 laser can help tighten the skin under the eyes and reduce appearance of fine lines and crepey skin. Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Skin under eyes The best answer will come when a provider can visually see your problem. In light of that here are some options. Sometimes the skin looks lax in the tear trough secondary to volume loss so a non volumizing filler will work beautifully. The skin can be tightened with a skin tightening technology for instance radiofrequency, we like ThermiSmooth 250 as our tech of choice. Lastly micro needling could help the laxity and help with collagen formation. Botox, Dysport or Xeomin are bad choices for under eye skin and bags as they work great for crows feet laterally to the eye. See someone and let them get a good visual of you and make sound recommendations. Hope this was helpful.. JB

Answer: Improving Under Eye -- Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk), Fraxel, Microneedling/PRP A combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for your short and long term goals. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Under Eye Treatments Hello wannabme4me, Thank you for your question. There are many ways to improve the crepey skin under the eyes. The best advice is to schedule an in person consultation so your provider can determine what would be best for you. Microneedling with PRP is an excellent treatment to correct the delicate under eye area. Microneedling helps strenghten the skin, along with smoothing and tightening. If the area is depressed you may need some filler. Lumenis DeepFX CO2 laser treatment is fantastic for wrinkles around the eyes. This treatment also uses a fractional pattern to aid in the regeneration process. The deep heating associated with DeepFX causes immediate collagen tightening and long-term collagen remodeling. It is very important along with treatments to use an eye cream in your home skin care regimen. Skin Better Science Daily Treatment Eye Cream is an excellent eye cream you can use morning and night. Hope this helps,

Answer: Under eye options There are several non-surgical options for crepey skin under the eye. Daily tretinoin topical cream can gradually thicken the dermis and improve fine wrinkles. Microneedling, lasers, and chemical peels all work as well by stimulating more collagen in the dermis (deeper living skin) and thinning the dead skin on top. Lastily, fillers can help blend areas which make the lower eyelids appear more sunken in or uneven for a more hydrated look. It is best to have an in-office examination to determine the safest and most effective treatment plan which matches your goals. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery
