Is it ok to use gicolic acid to flake of the dead skin? My face got very dark after , the photo is 3 weeks after and it was much darker.
Answer: Microneedling Thank you for your question in regards to microneedling. It is best to refer back to post-care instructions from your provider. Many offices have different protocols on pre and post care instructions. It is best to wait 48 hours before using topicals/regimen. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Answer: Retinol and microneedling I recommend waiting 2 weeks or until all redness and peeling have resolved. Most microneedling procedures have specific post care instructions. Follow those instructions for 2 weeks then resume your regular skin care regimen.

Answer: Microneedling and Skin Care I typically instruct my patients to wait 1-2 weeks until the skin has healed before resuming their anti-aging regimen which would include products like retinol and glycolic acid.

Answer: 7 to 9 days after microneedling OK, your specialist can guide you when he or she performs the procedure. Why ? Because how long your skin takes to heal up after microneedling will depend on many factors including- the passes, the depth of needles, if energy such as RF was used, if the needles are insulated or not, the technique that was used (e.g.. step or layers), your skin sensitivities, the device itself, and many other factors. The use of PRP can improve healing times and results. Bottom line, it will vary, but skin is usually back to normal after 6 days, so 7 to 9 days will be fine. Obviously start at a lower concentration ie. mix moisturiser with retinol. As a passing comment, the use of glycolic acid after microneedling is not a good idea, this can result in PIH or post inflammatory hyper pigmentation or skin darkening, esp. in your skin type. Please follow the instructions of your specialist, and your skin will heal up in the quickest possible time, wishing you well. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
