I had a rhinoplasty revision involving grafting. My tip is still hard. But it feels solid. I really want a lip lift ASAP. I am a bit confused by the different responses from doctors.. Some say 6 weeks after rhino is okay, some say 6 months, some say a year! I don't know what to think..
Answer: Lip Lift after Rhinoplasty Lip lift is an exacting procedure requiring perfect execution to achieve an optimal result. There are at least two concerns of performing lip lift after a Rhinoplasty – degree of residual swelling obscuring the lip anatomy and circulation to the surrounding skin. The wait time depends whether an open or closed Rhinoplasty was performed, as well as on the degree of residual swelling. In most cases lip lift could be safely performed after about 3 months wait. Of course only an in person evaluation by an experienced surgeon will determine optimum timing.

Answer: Lip lift following rhinoplasty In most cases it would be wise to wait at least 6-12. Much of this depends on how you heal from the rhinoplasty surgery. It's not possible to determine the appropriate amount of lip lift necessary if there is any degree of nasal swelling. That being said, I would still recommend you discuss this with your surgeon.

Answer: Lifting the lip after rhinoplasty The best answer to this question can be given after evaluation by your rhinoplasty surgeon. Every patient is different and the procedure to revise your rhinoplasty is known best by the surgeon who performed it. The best advice would be to discuss your concerns with your surgeon and follow through with his or her advice. Don't compromise on the work that has already been done for a quick fix to a different concern.

Answer: When to lift lip after rhinoplasty? I believe that the timing depends on ensuring that your nose is in the proper position and the length specifically is as you would like it. The length of the nose and the upper lip are intimately related and it would be unwise to modify the lip until the nasal length is established. Usually the length of the nose is not going to change much after 3 months following the surgery but if you are unsure that you like it and might wish to modify that aspect of your nose I would wait until it's been addressed. A lip lift can be a very powerful procedure and analysis is vital before moving forward. If you are certain about the nose then 3 months should suffice.
