Thanks for the question. After 6 weeks your surgery area is totally healed and yes you can do gym and also do other activities.
I appreciate your question. I would recommend that you discuss this question with your surgeon as every surgeon has their own respective post op protocol for his/her patients. Your surgeon is your best resource as he/she is most familiar with your medical history and how you are healing at this time. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. Best of luck! Dr. Schwartz Board Certified Plastic Surgeon #RealSelf100Surgeon
Generally speaking, I let my patients resume light aerobic activity at 3 weeks post-op. Then, at 6 weeks, I clear them to go back to doing whatever they would like (except for any heavy, strenuous core activity). However, every plastic surgeon has a different protocol. Please refer to your specific surgeon and his staff with this question. Good luck!
I encourage walking immediately after mommy makeover surgery. If abdominoplasty is involved activity must not involve targeting the abdominal muscles for six weeks. The breasts must remain at rest during any athletic activity such as running for six weeks.
Thank you for your question and congratulations on your recent surgery. Most patients are cleared to exercise by six weeks following a mommy makeover. it is best to have an in-person follow up examination with your plastic surgeon for recommendations regarding what you should and should not be doing at this time. Good luck in your recovery.
You should check with your surgeon who knows you best. For my patients, I want them to wait 6 weeks before resuming any type of formal exercise. Good luck!
Thank you for your question and congratulations on your surgery. After 3.5 months, assuming no current wound healing issues, you should be able to return to any form of exercise. Be sure to discuss this with your surgeon. Hope this helps.
At three months post-op you should be able to resume normal exercise activities, but I would get cleared by your PS for confirmation. Most patients should be able to resume most activities after 5-7 weeks. After a tummy tuck procedure, it is important for a patient to maintain a healthy lifestyle to ensure optimal results, however, jumping back into a rigorous workout regimen too quickly after a tummy tuck surgery can make recovery more difficult and longer. It is important to start slowly and listen to your body. Patients may typically start to resume light exercise two weeks after the surgery, but heavy lifting of weight more than 15 lb, sit-ups, and crunches should not resume until 8 weeks after the surgery.
Most patients are able to go home the same day after surgery and walk freely. I advise patients to stay in a flexed position for one week and they're walking straight by 2 weeks. I also recommend 2 weeks off from work. Return to exercise begins at 6 weeks and I recommend patients gradually return to the pre surgical routines. Best wishes,Dr. Jan
Healing after the #tummytuck will take time. I have my patients out of bed and walking the night of surgery and every hour while awake. I allow my patients to return to work at one to two weeks with 14 days preferred. No lifting or straining. At three weeks increased level of activity and full, no restrictions, at 6 weeks. If you find yourself concerned at all about your level of activity it would be good to visit your surgeon to have the procedure areas evaluated for proper healing progress.
