How long does a take for a Tummy Tuck incision to heal?

How long does a take for a tt incision to heal? Does my look fine . I'm 2 weeks post op today. I feel fine I just see my incision heal. My lower back does hurt. Feel swollen or like I have liquid. Would that affect my healing. I have a lymphatic massage this week.

First, if you feel like you have fluid then it should be evaluated and possibly drained by your surgeon. At 2 weeks, you have a lot of healing left to do in terms of the final scar appearance. Expect it to take a few months at least. Ask your surgeon about options such as silicone sheets to help.

Healing takes at approximately 4-6 weeks post tummy tuck.  The skin incision will continue to heal with maturation of the collagen over the next year.  You are early in the process and should consult with your surgeon regarding the fluid you describe and proper skin care to assist in best appearance of the scar.

After a tummy tuck it usually takes from 3 to 6 months for most of the tissues to settle down and you feel totally normal. The incisions can take one year or more to soften, but each patient is different.

Congratulations on your nice surgical results. Your incision is typical of the scar at 2 weeks.  It takes the incision a few months to mature and fade.  I usually tell my patients to avoid any massage for at least 4 weeks after this surgery, but please check with your surgeon.If you feel that you have fluid collection in the form of a "seroma" your doctor should see you for possible drainage.  If the fluid is just swelling, it is in the tissue and should subside with compression therapy.  Only your Plastic surgeon can tell the difference.  You should see him for evaluation of this "liquid".

TT incision line healing will require a minimum of 3 months to get to 80% of its tensile strength and upto 1 year for full maturation; gains after 6 months are slow; I do notice some redness of your skin flap which might indicate compromised healing from some fat necrosis or a suture granuloma. You should follow up with your surgeon.
