What's the first night like after tummy tuck?

Depending on the kind of surgery done- tummy tuck recoveries are not all the same. I use long acting pain injections as part of my tummy tucks. It has changed the level of post operative pain that my patients experience. A majority of my tummy tucks do go home the same day of surgery. If they have had large hernia repairs, I may have them stay overnight in the hospital. I am lucky enough to have a hospital with luxury suites as an option. My patients are able to have a 5 star hotel atmosphere with one on one nursing care. This allows for a peaceful and restful night of recovery.Good luck,RSH

If you are spending the night at the hospital you probably won't remember much, the nursing staff will be able to give you stronger medication than what you would have at home to keep you comfortable, you will probably sleep most of the time. Good luck!
