Haven't heard of any benefit of witch hazel for bruising after liposuction. I have my patients use arnica montana with good results. Discuss this with your board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question!I am not familiar with the benefits of witch hazel aiding in post op bruising. Any remedies should be discussed with your surgeon.Good luck!
This is unlikely to improve bruising. Arnica and VBeam treatments may give improvement. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. mrsstaceybj1. I am not aware of the benefits of witch hazel for bruising after liposuction or any other surgery. There are options to assist in decreasing bruising quicker, like Arnica, but I recommend you discuss these options with your board-certified plastic surgeon who is performing the surgery. Good luck.
Witch hazel will likely have not positive or negative effects at all on bruising after liposuction. You may want to consider arnica montana sublingual tablets as this may offer some slight improvement in bruising resolution. Best of luck.
Witch hazel is a natural astringent derived from the leaves and bark of the witch hazel shrub. It is known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties. While there is anecdotal evidence suggesting that witch hazel may help reduce swelling and bruising, it's essential to approach its use cautiously, especially after a surgical procedure like liposuction. Before using any topical solution, including witch hazel, for postoperative care, it's crucial to follow your plastic surgeon's specific instructions and get their approval. Here are some general considerations:1. Consult with Your Surgeon: Always consult with your plastic surgeon before using any over-the-counter products on your surgical incisions or treated areas. Your plastic surgeon may have specific recommendations or prefer that you avoid certain substances during the early stages of recovery.2. Avoid Irritants: Some individuals may have skin sensitivities or allergic reactions to certain products. It's essential to choose products that are gentle and unlikely to cause irritation.3. Follow Postoperative Care Guidelines: Your plastic surgeon will provide detailed instructions on how to care for the treated areas, including recommendations for bruising and swelling. Adhering to these guidelines is crucial for optimal healing.4. Ice Packs or Cold Compresses: In many cases, surgeons recommend the use of ice packs or cold compresses to help reduce swelling and bruising. This is often a safer and more widely accepted method for managing postoperative symptoms.Always prioritize communication with your plastic surgeon and follow their guidance to ensure the best possible outcome. If you have specific concerns about bruising after liposuction, discuss them with your plastic surgeon during your follow-up appointments. They can provide recommendations tailored to your individual recovery and address any issues that may arise.
It is unlikely that witch hazel will do harm. It will also do no good.It is best to stick with the recommendations of your surgeon.
