Hi there, and thanks for your question. Shaving in between laser hair removal sessions is perfectly fine and even encouraged within the 24 hours before each treatment. Just make sure you do not wax or pluck the treated areas, because these methods remove the hair from the follicle completely, which can slow down the process. If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to contact your cosmetic surgeon’s office.
You can shave between sessions. It is recommended to shave either the night before or the day of treatment. Diode, alexandrite and yag lasers work best for hair removal. I typically have patients do every 4 weeks for the first 3 times and then every 4-6 weeks for 3 times after. It will take a series of treatments and some people need treatments to maintain. Thanks for the question. It is perfectly safe to shave between laser hair removal treatments. It is often promoted by medical professionals, and you are advised to shave the night before or on the day of treatment i.e. within a day before each session of laser treatment. Though shaving is beneficial, you should avoid plucking or waxing the treated regions, as these measures get rid of the hair completely from the follicle, which often slows down the effects of treatment. It’s always better to ask your cosmetic surgeon about specific ‘before and after’ procedure concerns. I hope this helps.
We recommend that patients shave the area for Laser Hair removal 1-2 days prior to the treatment as it allows the laser to target the hair more readily. It does not delay the shedding process.Good Luck!
Thank you for your question. There is no problem with shaving between laser hair removal sessions. You should however avoid waxing and plucking as these remove the follicles and hence the target for the laser energy.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
Thank you for your question. Most patients require 6-8 treatments for laser hair removal. Occasionally a patient may need more treatments due to hormonal issues. Based on the number of unsuccessful treatments you have had, I would recommend seeing a qualified laser...
Hi there, Laser hair removal works great for dark hair. Unfortunately light blonde, red, or white hairs will not respond well to laser treatments. Your brown hairs may react well if they are dark, but you would still have hair growth in the areas that tend to grow lighter hairs. El...
These look worrisome for an infection. Some small red "bumps" and mild itching is common after laser hair removal but should go away after several days. The presence of pus and pain is also concerning. I would definitely let your provider know what is going on and see a doctor, you may need...
