Itching inside nostril 1 month after rhinoplasty - normal?

Question

Is it normal to have itching inside my nostril everyday after rhinoplasty at this stage? (1 month after rhinoplasty) When will the itching begin to stop? It's extremely annoying

Some people experience nasal itching in the earlier phase after rhinoplasty as the nose heals and the nerve endings return to normal. The itching in these cases is often described as a deep itch.Another possible cause for itching after surgery is a local skin allergy reaction to topical medications that may be used after surgery such as antibiotic ointment.You should check with your surgeon to make sure everything is healing properly and to find out more about your itching.

Itching can be a normal process in terms of wound healing.  It is also possible that you might be feeling a stitch hanging inside the nose possibly causing that sensation, which can be annoying.  Of course, this could be the case if your surgeon did an open approach rhinoplasty.  I recommend that you follow up with your surgeon and ask about this.  Good luck!

At only 1 month postop from rhinoplasty, you still have a
tremendous amount of swelling in your nose.  You can experience many symptoms still such as itching and discomfort.  The swelling in your
nose will resolve in a progressive fashion over months in the direction of
gravity.  It is not uncommon to be frustrated at
this point in your recovery.  I would recommend following up with your
rhinoplasty surgeon to discuss any concerns you may have throughout the healing
process.  Good communication and rapport between patient and surgeon both
before and after surgery is very important.
