I’ve seen plenty of doctors for consultations, they have all told me that I am a good candidate. Is it better to go for someone with an ENT background or a general surgeon when it comes to revision work? I have narrowed it down to the following doctors, I just need help with who has most expertise. - Dr. Daniel G. Becker - Dr. Andrew Frankel - Dr. Benjamin Swartout - Dr. Ronald Gruber - Dr. Rollin Daniel - Dr. Daniel Baker - Dr. Gilbert Aiach (Paris) - Dr. Dean Toriumi - Dr. Garth Fisher
Answer: Revision rhinoplasty which surgeon best? The best doctor for revision rhinoplasty is one does nose is similar to yours that look the best. Having done revision rhinoplasty for 35 years I would avoid having a rip graft which is almost never needed.see patients that Dr. has done and meet with them before having surgery.

Answer: Ent doctor I may be biased because I'm board certified in otolaryngology, facial plastic surgery and plastic surgery and had over eight years of training but I believe that in general ENT with experience in rhinos have a bit of an advantage over general plastic surgery. I had much more nose experience in my Ent residency than I did in my plastic surgery residency. I was actually doing more revisions in my plastic surgery residency and that added immensely to my experience. If possibly, why not go with someone with both sets of experience ? LA has no shortage of plastic surgeons and surely some of them are just like me with both sets of resin woes behind them ???

Answer: Choosing the right rhinoplasty surgeon It sounds like you have done your research. The debate between an ENT trained versus general plastics trained surgeon will be never ending. There are many great surgeons in each category. In general, ENT trained rhinoplasty surgeons tend to be more aware of the functional issues also associated with rhinoplasty. I believe that this is because their training also included septoplasty, sinus surgery, and turbinate surgery. That being said, many general plastic surgeons have done this for years and are very adept in the functional aspect as well. I think much of 'choosing the right surgeon' comes down to how you feel after the consultation. Best of luck
