I would say the BBL is a more difficult recovery. With a BBL, there is a certain amount of liposuction required which can be more painful. Plus with a BBL, some surgeons will not allow you to sit on your buttock for several days to even a couple weeks so that can get annoying very quick. With a breast augmentation, you will feel pressure discomfort on your chest. A different sensation than the BBL.Best of luck and hope this information helps!
Most patients would likely say that recovery from a fat transfer to the buttock (BBL) is more difficult due to the limitations of positioning afterwards. You should avoid direct sitting for a few weeks and sleep on your stomach during that time period. The breast augmentation involves creating a pocket under the pectoral muscle, which can be uncomfortable for the first several days. Consult with a few plastic surgeons in person for more detailed information.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno
In general, if patients have experienced minimal pain in previous surgeries, they will have minimal pain with the BBL and breast implants. If you want small implants, you will have a flash recovery. I perform breast augmentation through all 4 incision approaches, and I do not think that incision makes any difference in pain. The main determinant of pain will be implant size. In general, most patients experience 3 or 4 days of spasm. However, the size of the patient, the anatomy, the size of the implant, and individual pain tolerance factors impact the recovery process. The first 3 to 4 days tend to be the worst for most BBL patients. Many of my patients feel well enough to return to work at 1 week, but some patients may need 2 weeks before returning to a sedentary job. At six weeks, they can return to strenuous exercise. For most of my patients, I tell them that at 6 weeks there is still a great deal of swelling in the abdomen, sides, and back (or wherever the liposuction was performed), and they will only look better in 6 months. Dear jacks1031,it is hard to tell without an examination. Generally speaking, breast augmentation patients need one week of downtime. Recovery after a BBL depends on a number of things: how much liposuction you will get, the areas of liposuction, your individual recovery time and pain threshold. Many of my patients are able to return to work one week after minimal to moderate liposuction. For more information and examination, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Hello and thank you for your question. I think that recovery from breast augmentation is much easier than with BBL for several reasons:1) Our flash recovery breast augmentation protocol2) Larger surface area that is traumatized in BBL vs the breasts (confined to each side of chest)I hope this helps and best of luck. Please make sure to seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for your surgeries as the differences between these procedures, their recoveries, and your candidacy could be easily explained by someone with such expertise.Sincerely,Dr. Sean Kelishadi
Hello, thanks so much for your inquiry. I would say that BBL has a more difficult recovery process due to the fact that you will have liposuction in some areas and you would not be able to sit for at least 4 weeks, nor putting any kind of pressure on your buttocks. Breast Augmentation would make you feel somewhat sore, with discomfort but would not be very painful. Please make sure that you and your surgeon are on the same page. Don't forget to discuss all your concerns, options and expectations thoroughly. Have a safe and pleasant PS Journey!Respectfully,Dr. Jaime Campos-LeonBoard Certified Plastic SurgeonIG: drcamposleon
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well.It depends on you and your tolerance to pain. Because, if the breast implants are in a person that does not have breast it's going to hurt a lot because of the pressure and you'll have a restriction to move your arms. But, in another hand, with the BBL you'll have pain all over the body, specially in the flanks and butt.I recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and concerns.Good luck :)
I don't think anyone would give you a disshonest response. It varies from patient to patient but overall there a cover you from the Brazilian while it may not be particularly painful it's cumbersome and messy in comparison to a breast augmentation. Most plastic surgeons want you to not sit on the treated area or sleep on your back for several weeks. This can have a substantial impact on lifestyle in daily activities. Most patients feel fine five days after I breast augmentation.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
