Hello,Yes it is possible for a drain to become blocked. The flow of drainage can be higher or lower at times but if you feel you have a blockage I would advise you to contact your Plastic Surgeon for instructions. All the best
Surgical drains can occasionally become occluded. There are some drain stripping techniques that can typically fix the problem. If the drain does become occluded, it is possible for the fluid to build up in the surgical space that was being drained. If this were to happen, percutaneous drainage using a needle might be necessary. Keep in mind that the drainage amount can vary depending on your body position and activity level.
While it is possible that the drains can get clogged with some blood, it is usually an easy fix. This is probably some that is best addressed by calling your plastic surgeon and asking them how you could strip or milk the drains. If your plastic surgeon has not shown this to you, it may be best to visit with your surgeon so he/she can demonstrate to you how this could be done.Good luck.
Hi, kdw3083. If the drain is clogged, fluid can build up in your abdomen. You can try to "milk" (strip) the drain to unclot the drain. Please visit your plastic surgeon to be evaluated. Best regards.
This is definitely possible and can usually be easily corrected. I would contact your plastic surgeon and have them evaluate you ASAP. I wish you a safe recovery.Dr. Gill
Thank you for your question. It is possible drain clog can lead to build of fluid inside. Pl call you PS and express your concerns, and also ask how to do stripping of drain.
I would eat healthy, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid alcohol. I would inform your surgeon ahead of time about your weight gain, so they can evaluate how this may affect your result. All the best.

Thank you for your question. This seems to be a possible side effect from one of your medications. Maybe the antibiotic or prednisone. Please contact your plastic surgeon for an exam and review of your medications. All the best.
