How many grafts would I need for full coverage of crown and hairline with FUE? (photos)

Thanks for the question. Based on your photos, the 4500+ grafts might be good opiton for you, but it would be wrong to say something for sure. You should see a board certified surgeon. You can then plan the process together and discuss the results. I wish you all the best. 

Although several factors are necessary to consider to determine the proper amount of grafts such as what was mentioned in the other answers, surface area is also very important.  Some patients have much larger/smaller heads than others and this cannot be determined from photos.  

Photos cannot determine if you would be a good candidate for surgery.  You need an examination and the doctor needs to understand your goals and expectations.You need to have good communication with your doctor to understand what your end result will look like. Someone with your hair loss pattern may be perfectly happy with 1000 grafts, while others may not be happy even with over 3000 grafts.  You also have to realize one surgery may not be enough.  To add to the confusion, straight black hair on fair skin results in a thinner appearing outcome then someone with curly blond hair on fair skin.   I hope you can appreciate there are many factors to your end result than just a "number" of grafts.

In my opinion you need one large session or break it into two. First if you want a one single large session then you’re going to need about 3500+. Most of these ago in crown of course cause it seems to be the largest area, And the rest would be placed in that hairline of yours. Now if you would like to split up the case or split it into two classes then I would attack either the crown first and then the hairline or vice versa. She choice. 

Depends on the quality of your donor hair. If you have thick hair on your donor area you can expect better results with the same number of grafts. Just by looking at your photos, I think you may be getting a good coverage with over 3000 FUE grafts. That will give your 1500 grafts for a solid hairline in front and 1500-2000 grafts to restore the crown area.
