I had Orthognathic Surgery to address a bad overbite and have metal permanently implanted in my jaw. I know facetite uses radio frequencies. Could that interfere with the metal in my jaw? Am I still a candidate for FaceTite?
Answer: Facetite Thank you for your questions. Metal in your jaw is not an absolute contraindication but it would depend on the location. Because Facetite uses heat to shrink wrap the tissues, it can cause some discomfort if there is metal near the area that is being treated. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon who has experience with the Facetite machine. In our office, we offer 3D imaging to give our patients an accurate idea of what their final result will look like. Good luck!
