When getting under eye injections is feeling your nerves tingle normal?

I had Restylane injected under my eyes for the hollowness. When the NP injected the Restylane she told me if I fill tingling in my nose or mouth let her know. I did a few times and she backed the needle out and located another spot to inject in. Is that a normal to do? Occasionally I feel a little tingle in my lip. Is that normal or even related to each other? I want to get my second injection but I'm scared because of the first visit. Feeling my lip and nose tingle was a shocker.

this is not normal and if you still have tingling or any issues you should have it looked at.
There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. Tear trough injection is complicated , and requires expert knowledge of the anatomy. Near the tear trough lies the infraorbital foramen, this is essentially a tiny hole from which nerves and blood supply arise. It communicates the infraorbital nerve, which is a branch of the trigeminal nerve. The infraorbital nerve has sensory branches to the maxillary sinus and upper teeth. This is most likely why the provider asked if you felt anything in your teeth/mouth to let them know as it would indicate to her that she may be near the foramen and therefore she should move her needle so the injection would be safer and more comfortable. The ongoing tingle may or may not be related and you should contact your provider so they can assess the area.

Sensation in a distant area could be felt when nerve is hit while injecting. I would not expect this in this area. You might feel more comfortable using a board certified physician when having fillers injected into your face. Anything can go wrong with any injector but the more education that your injector has the better your chances of a good outcome.
