Does CoolSculpting always remove 20-25% of fat regardless of how much fat there is to begin with?

Hi. On average Coolsculpting will reduce 20-25% of the existing fat cells per treatment. So yes, your calculations are accurate. However, most patients are very happy after 2-3 rounds of treatment. When you come back for your second treatment, you’ll have fewer fat cells than you did before your first treatment, but CoolSculpting will still remove up to 35% of those remaining fat cells. And so on, for your next treatment. When considering the initial volume of fat, then yes your calculations are more or less correct, but that’s not an example of diminishing returns. Patients who respond favorably to CoolSculpting generally lose 20-25% of the fat in the treated area with each cycle. A larger applicator will treat more fat than a smaller applicator but the goal is to achieve an improved contour in the treated area. After the first treatment you can assess the result and modify the treatment to achieve further improvement in the treated area. The second treatment in the same area may not remove as much fat but is designed to achieve the best result. Some of the best results with CoolSculpting are obtained in treating small areas to remove those stubborn fat deposits which are resistant to diet and exercise. More is not alwyas better when it comes to body contouring.
