I had my flanks coolsculpted on Oct 18. They are a bit swollen and tender, which is normal (Ive had CoolSculpting before and loved it) I was 130 the day I did CoolSculpting and today I am 139 lbs!. I’ve not changed my diet and I’m relatively active. I hope this is due to maybe some water retention/swelling from CoolSculpting? Some insight on this would be helpful!
Answer: 10 lbs. weight gain after CoolSculpting to flanks As you mentioned, it is possible to get some temporary swelling after a CoolSculpting procedure but I have not seen patients get any significant weight gain due to the procedure. I would consider a 9 pound weight gain relatively significant. At this point I would just follow your weight and see if it goes back down. If it is not improving, I would contact the physician who treated you so that you can be examined in person to try and determine the cause of your issue.

Answer: Coolsculpting Results--Add Radiofrequency, Thermage, Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, VASER, ThermiRF Swelling can be typical, but 10 lbs seems excessive. I recommend following up with your Doctor. Keep in mind, it can take 3-6 months for final results with Coolsculpting. Also, for best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Swelling after CoolSculpting Thank you for your question. CoolSculpting shouldn't normally cause water retention and so our advice is always to call or return to your practice for a quick health check so they can make sure they put your mind at rest.

Answer: Swelling after Coolsculpting Some swelling in the treatment area is normal after Coolsculpting (especially with older applicators) but 10 pounds is not something any of our patients have reported. I would definitely suggest (if you haven't already) a quick check on the calibration of your scale or making sure you use the same scale for both weights- you may be surprised at the difference. Make sure you follow up with the office that treated you so they can take a good look at what may be happening. Lastly, try some compression garments or spanx to help restore your shape along with some Alastin Body Transform. Best of Luck!

Answer: Coolsculpting Swelling Swelling and fluid retention is a common side effect immediately after Coolsculpting, lasting approximately one to two weeks. Ten pound fluid retention would be considered significant and somewhat unusual. Waiting two weeks after your treatment to see if the weight gain diminishes is reasonable. After that , a follow up appointment with your Coolsculpting provider would be advised for an evaluation.
