How can I have my chin and cheeks tightened following FFS?

I'm 8 months into facial feminization surgery recovery. I had a jaw/chin reduction, which left skin in the area a little loose. Doctor tightened things with incisions behind my ears/under chin, but things are still a tad loose. Also have a small amount of fat that pooled under my lower chin. Thinking was the aftermath of fat graphs done several years earlier in my eye sockets, cheeks & temples. Feel that this area really ages me. Any advise? I am 53 years old if that info is needed. Thanks!!!

Facial feminization surgery to adjust the jaw can loosen the skin in some people.  Your chin looks a bit wide in the photo so it's hard to tell how much was taken off or when the surgery was.  You may benefit from a facelift, laser, or other procedures.  Additional photos will help.

As we age our skin looses elasticity and the ability to spring back into place.  In many patients in their 50s a significant jaw reduction can leave excess skin.  If there is still excess skin after waiting several months these patients are often excellent candidates for a facelift surgery.  This would extend the incisions behind your ears to the front of your ears and use them to remove any excess facial skin.  Your surgeon will be able to tell you if this is the right procedure for you.-Bryan Rolfes, MD
