Can I change my square face or extra skin on my face? Naturally or by surgery?

There are many ways to change your facial features to be more of what you'd like.  However, you must post photos or see a cosmetic physician as an in person consultation to get an indivdulized approach to options..  Best, Dr. Emer. 

Changing your facial shape or excess skin problem would need to be evaluated in person. Guessing as to what might be indicated is not a proper answer to your problem. See an experienced facial plastic surgeon for a discussion of the pros and cons of whether you even need this.

It is difficult to answer your question without a face-to-face evaluation, or at least, a photograph. However, a "square" face can sometimes be due to excess bulk (hypertrophy) of the jaw muscles (the masseter muscles). This may be just how you developed, or may be due to you grinding your teeth in your sleep, thus working the muscles hard. If this is the reason for your "square" face, then the contour of the jaw can be reduced by injecting Botox into the masseter muscles in your jaw. This is quite a straightforward and routine procedure.

There are ways to slim down the face and/or soften a square appearance of the jawline with or without surgery.  However, it depends on what and where the area of concern is.  Please consult with a board certified specialist who can assist you with achieving the results you seek.  3-dimensional computer imaging can also help assist the consultation process.  However you will need parenteral consent prior to any type of treatment, surgical or not.
