What type of angle are they supposed to be? Does it simply mean higher up? If you could include a couple celebrity examples of what the difference between angular and not angular cheeks are that would be very helpful. Does Jamie Oliver have angular cheeks? Ryan Gosling?

I find that many LA faces look way too feminized and this is because of putting filler to high and lateral in a male face.  Each injection needs to be individualized but typically men require placement more medial/middle to give them more of a square apperance rather than a "heart shape."  I suggest if you are looking to get filler to go to someone who is an exert in injecting and treating men.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Cheeks are larger but balanced in males. Some males want them to be more prominent and stick out more at the upper part of the cheek. This is personal preference and can be done either way.

A women's cheek is soft and round; a man has more angle to it.  It can not be round or the face would look feminine.  Look online at some male models.  You can see the angle of the cheek and jawline.  Many of these models have more angle than the average man would want, but it will give you an idea.
