I always hear of girls who get butt implants, but then have to remove them because of complications and the body rejecting the implant. What causes this? What are risks and complications of butt implants?
Answer: Why do so many butt implants get rejected by the body? The two main causes for removal of implants are intractable fluid collection and infection. In the vast majority of patients this is not an issue.

Answer: Why do so many butt implants get rejected by the body? Thank you for your question. This is one of those urban legend type of concepts that is from a misunderstanding of the real story. No one has a body that "rejects" the implants. But people do have complications from surgery such as infection that require removal of the implant. When this happens, laypeople explain this by saying that their body "rejected" the implant. For you to understand the risks and complications of buttock implants, you need to see a local board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation.Best of luck!

Answer: Buttocks enlargement Dear BrittE92,there are not so many cases of implant rejection but the complication rate is high and patient satisfaction rate is lower than in case of BBL. If you are considering buttocks augmentation, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Rejection butt implants? I've never seen a case of implants being rejected by the body. Buttock implants have a high risk of complications that's why they are many times removed. Throughout the country there is anywhere from 8:15 to 30% risk of infection bleeding scarring and the wound opening up exposing the implant and therefore it would have to be removed. In general the larger the implant placed the larger the risks. I find you a void all these problems with fat grafting in the operation known as the BBL. I would recommend you find a board-certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of plastic surgery who specializes and has a large experience in these procedures. Best regards, Dr Michael Gartner

Answer: Implant position and surgical techniques and affect the success rate. Thank you for your question. With the right surgical technique and expertise, butt implants can be very successful. That said, because they are placed in an area of your body that is involved in virtually all movements you make, plus sitting, it can be more difficult for implants to “take” in this area. An alternative is a Brazilian butt lift, with does not use a synthetic implant at all. Instead, it takes unwanted fat from another area of your body and then carefully injects that into the buttocks. Many people find that the BBL offers more natural-looking, feeling and moving results than butt implants.
