The position of the eyeball is relative to the eyesocket/orbit and surrounding structures, so it is relative. Your eyeball appear bulging relative to the orbit, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is abnormal. See an oculoplastic specialist for evaluation. See following video for various etiologies of bulging eyes.
Hi, thank you for your question. Looking at the photos you submitted, it does look your eyes are bulging. Prominent, or bulging eyes can be caused by thyroid eye disease, so it is important that you see an experienced oculoplastic surgeon to be evaluated. A full eye and orbital exam is important. Also the doctor will most likely check blood work to look for any abnormalities.Best of luck.
Eyes may appear to bulge for many reasons - nearsightedness/ high myopia, thyroid eye problems, shallow orbits/ heredity, sinus issues, normal variation, enophthalmos on the opposite side, and other problems. A consultation with an oculoplastics/ orbital specialist will provide you the answers you need. Make an appointment for consultation in person so that you may have accurate answers to your questions. Best wishes.
a neutral photograph looking straight ahead would be helpful. if you do have bulging eyeballs, the place to start would be with an ophthamologist, for evaluation, and perhaps an endocrinologist to see if you have exopthalmos perhaps related to your thyroid gland.
