Bruising after Botox and fillers under the eyes will not go away after 11 days. Options for removal?

I have the two week follow up with my experiencedsa doctor in a few days. The bruising under the eye is very stubborn. I read there is something the doctor can give you that will remove the fillers (and bruising)?

It can take a few weeks for bruising to subside. Icing, arnica and VBeam treatments will give improvement. I recommend getting an evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Dear Takeashot,bruising can occur after injection of dermal fillers or Botox and in most cases it disappears completely after few weeks. Dermal fillers can be dissolved using hyaluronidase but it won't affect your bruising. If you are concerned, I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon. Daniel Barrett, MD

If the filler you want removed is a Hyluranic Acid, such as Volbella or Belotero, it can be treated with a medicine called Hyaluronidase, which is injected into the filler area within 24-48 hours of treatment, dissolving the filler.

I find that treatment with V-beam or the excel v will get rid of the bruising nicely. Our standard operating procedure is that if anyone notices bruises we will treat them asap with vbeam or excel v and that reduces the stress on the patient.

Bruising in the area injected is normal and often expected, especially if treated around the eyes. It can even last up to several weeks. Do not take Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Vitamin E, Green Tea and/or any other anti-inflammatory products, as these can increase bruising.  
We recommend using topical Arnica and/or Vitamin K. This can help diminish bruising and can be found over-the-counter at many pharmacies, health food stores & vitamin stores

Hello, thank you for your question. It is difficult to determine the best option for you without seeing a photo. Typically, bruising will resolve on its own. Often times, if a patient at my office presents with a bruise, we can use IPL to speed up the recovery time. If you are unsatisfied with the results of the actual filler, if it is a hyaluronic based filler it can be dissolved using hyaluronidase. In either case, it is best to speak with your provider to determine the best plan of treatment.
