Hello! I posted previously & a physician kindly informed me that it would be easier to give feedback if I provided more images. Recently I realized that my chin is too small & my nose too wide for my thin face. I also dislike the length of my face (particularly the mid-face). I have a suspicion that my philtrum is too long & that contributes to the oblong appearance. Would I benefit from something like a lip lift? I am open to any suggestions. Thank you for your feedback!
Answer: What makes a good lip lift candidate Thanks for posting the additional views! I remember your other post. Looking at the views with lips parted, you have a really nice lip shape and a nice amount of tooth show, and from the sides the upper lip does not look particularly long. It looks like your midface is long overall, more so than an out of proportion upper lip. If I had to choose one feature which is not in harmony with the rest of the face it's the chin. Before doing anything else I would recommend filler to the chin, like Voluma, which can give you an idea of what your face would look like with a stronger chin. You would likely need more than 1 cc, and if you are nervous or hesitant, you can add volume gradually, such as starting with 1 syringe and then adding a 2nd. If you like it, you can continue with filler or get a chin implant. After addressing the chin, you could reassess the face as a whole. One other thing that can give the illusion of a long upper lip is a nose that is short in relation to the face, though in these photos that doesn't appear to be the case here. One consideration would be putting a little filler to reshape the tip and support the base of the nose. Surprisingly, tiny amounts in just the right places changes the look of the whole face. It's pretty amazing. The tricky thing about plastic surgery is each surgeon's recommendations are very specific to what that surgeon can achieve, and the recommendations would not have the same results in someone else's hands. In other words, for example for filler, you're not buying the syringe of filler. You're buying the skill and artistry of the injector, and each of us devise our own plans based on our individual sense of aesthetics, and use different techniques accordingly. To get the best evaluation and specific recommendations, I would recommend an in person consultation. In the meantime I hope this helps :)

Answer: Lip Lift Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. Many offices - including ours - offer video imaging that can show you how certain procedures would influence your appearance. Best wishes,

Answer: Lip lift? NO, lip lift contra-indicated. Everything about your lips is perfect and beautiful. Your maxilla may be a bit long vertically, but that's part of your allure. Nose could be adjusted and feminized if you want, but I recommend against changing too much (if anything) else. Beauty is a natural gift to be appreciated, cherished, and enjoyed.

Answer: Lip lift Dear Little_Lottie,based on your photos, it doesn't look like your philtrum is too long but it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
