Am I a candidate for bichectomy or facelift? (Photo)

Question

Hello. I don't like my bumps next to my mouth I guess it might be cause I have lost baby fat but I have had it since I remember. Also when I smile It makes weird folds next to my mouth. I have already had some fat dissolving injections (lower cheeks) and fillers (upper cheeks) with no effect on this. What kind of procedure would help me? Thank you for help.

Buccal fat excision is a relatively straight forward, irresistible surgery that would reduce bulk in your lower face. However, let's be clear, no one should guarantee that it will resolve your concern. In fact, it is highly likely not to address your issue. Neither will a facelift. If you have any history of having any hyaluronic acid filler, at any time, I would recommend having it removed. I will caution you, that there is a terrible surgery out there there this issue is directly excised. This is terribly disfiguring. No matter what the surgeon promises you, please do not do this to yourself. You are obviously beautiful with an small issue that not one perceives as an issue so you should be wise and philosophical about what you try to "fix" it. The fix should not be worse than the issue. Caution is advised.

Hello dear Andy thank you for your question. Those two procedures can be done together, in your specific condition those photos are not suitable to evaluate your situation. As far as I see from your photos you have a good skin quality and I assume that you don't have excess skin which means that the best procedure will fit for you will be the ones that are endoscopic ones which leaves no skin incisions such as endoscopic mid face lift.

You are too young for a facelift. Also the bulge is not near the buccal fat pad. I’m sure some doctors will try injectable fillers or Botox but I recommend leaving it alone.

I am not sure what is causing that. Could be buccal fat pad. Removing buccal fat is easy, fast and inexpensive. Just not sure how to know in advance if it will help you.
