Obviously the bet thing to do would be to lose some more weight. If this is not possible, lipo is a great procedure to remove focal areas of fat.
Dear Fluffy123456789, If you are happy with your weight then, see a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for a consultation. Liposuction may be beneficial for you but an exam is needed to be certain. Good Luck. #Dr. Gervais
Liposuction seems like a reasonable and viable alternative.Liposuction results are highly surgeon dependent. Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of liposuction and liposuction revision procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
If you have optimized your weight and tone with diet and exercise, liposuction looks like it should work well.
BMI is a good indicator or what can be attributed to fat/weight loss. You photo only shows your mid section and you did not indicate your height and weight. However, if it persists when your BMI is less than 25-27, then the tissues may be best approached by liposuction. Additionally, It may be that your upper abdomen is appropriately flat such that you would have a nice "six pack" when the lower abdomen is defatted with either weight loss or liposuction (or abdominoplasy ). So, in conclusion, check your BMI. If it is high, lower it. If it is already low, see your local APAPS board certified plastic surgeon.
Liposuction is the suction removal of unwanted subcutaneous fat. Our bodies store fat in different amounts in and around the abdomen including the lower rib cage as shown in your photo. Liposuction works well in this area. These procedures can be performed as an outpatient with a quick recovery and patients are generally back to work in 3-5 days. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon who performs liposuction frequently.Good Luck!
Seromas are not uncommon in abdominoplasty. However, if after one or two aspirations and several months without resolution, it is unrealistic to think that it is going away on its own. You need a drain replaced. This can be done very easily in the office with a product called a SeromaCath. ...
I suggest asking your plastic surgeon this question as different surgeons have different post-op instructions. Your incisions must be completely closed and you shouldn’t have any drains. That being said, a basic guideline to follow is 3-4 weeks. Best regards.
