T spot after breast lift still open after 2 weeks, how long to heal? (photo)

Question

I have an opening that keeps getting a scab over it. Doc says to put antibiotic ointment 2 times a day. It has not changed in 2 weeks since it opened besides getting a scab that will come off then scab again. Is there something more I can do? I am 4wpo it opened at 2wpo

Have your surgeon check your wound again. That dark area should be trimmed off and you might have a stitch under the scab which is slowing things down. This should then heal with a nice result. Good luck.

This where the tension is the greatest after the surgery, therefore a common area to split slightly.  Often it will heal without incident.  Check with your surgeon to make sure there isn't a suture under the skin irritating the area, preventing healing.There are many factors, which should be discussed with your board certified plastic surgeon and an in-person exam.

This is the most common area with the anchor pattern scar to develop some wound healing issues. If the area continues to scab and does not appear to be getting any smaller, do see your plastic surgeon. It is possible there is a suture protruding at that opening that may be preventing it from healing properly.

That is a very common area for delayed wound healing. Ointment with a 4x4/gauze over the wound is best. It’s a good idea to have your plastic surgeon look at it closely to make sure there isn’t a future abcess. If there is, it needs to be trimmed off . Keep doing what you are doing though. These types of wounds can take a couple months to completely close.

Unfortunately where skin touches skin the healing is sometimes delayed. It may take another month for the area to heal. Keep doing as your surgeon has told you- Neosporin on the wounds and gauze to prevent the skin rubbing over the wound is what I tell my patients to do.
