I have an opening that keeps getting a scab over it. Doc says to put antibiotic ointment 2 times a day. It has not changed in 2 weeks since it opened besides getting a scab that will come off then scab again. Is there something more I can do? I am 4wpo it opened at 2wpo

Answer: Wound opening This where the tension is the greatest after the surgery, therefore a common area to split slightly. Often it will heal without incident. Check with your surgeon to make sure there isn't a suture under the skin irritating the area, preventing healing.There are many factors, which should be discussed with your board certified plastic surgeon and an in-person exam.
