Is Rogaine safe to use long term?

Question

I have been using Rogaine for over 2 years with no known side effects, but I found some information online that minoxidille can cause heart problems. Does that apply to Rogaine or is that just for oral Minoxidile? Considering to keep the results, you have to keep using Rogaine, I was just wondering if it was safe to use this long term?

Rogaine(Minoxidil) has been used for hair loss for decades.It is a very safe medication with the most common side effect being irritation of the scalp.Minoxidil itself is a medication that was used to control blood pressure in people with hypertension.As such if enough is absorbed from the scalp it can lower the blood pressure(can get lightheaded) or sometimes cause a little "flutter" in the heartbeat.However,it doe not cause serious heart problems.

Rogaine is considered safe, if used as directed. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options.
