How long do I need to quit using Rogain to be sure it is entirely out of my system?

I have been using Rogaine for about 10 years and I believe it does help- but the last 2 years I have been breaking out in hives with no explanation. The allergist says I'm not allergi c to anything. I will stop the rogaine for a while- but need to know how long to stop using it to see if the hives disappear.

Topical Rogaine will be out of your system within a few days. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best alternatives to Rogaine. average half life of topical Rogaine is 22 hours.  So it should be out of your system shortly
thereafter.  Keep in mind once completely
out of your system you will resume with losing hair. Perhaps try a different brand of Rogaine, maybe you are allergic to an additive in the particular brand use are using.

Hives are a rare but possible side effect of Rogaine. Rogaine contains Minoxidil, an active ingredient which can trigger unwanted secondary effects such as this one. To remove Rogaine from your system, Rogaine has a half life of 22 hours, if it is topically applied. If taken orally it only takes several hours. It is recommended to stop 2-3 weeks, but doing so may gradually begin the hair loss.

With a half life of minoxidil of 22 hrs most is out of thr body in 1 week. But if you are testing whether you could be even remotely sensitive to the compound, I advise giving 2-3 weeks. Stopping could prompt hair loss (first in the form of shedding).

topical rogaine has a half life of about 22 hours, so it would take a couple of days to be completely eliminated from your scalp. Just keep in mind that by stopping the minoxidil you can begin having hair loss progression relatively quickly.
