How long should I be off work after BBL with lipo 360? -Concerned Flight Attendant

Many of my patients return to work after 7 to 14 days if that work is sedentary or non strenuous. A week is probably OK with a conservative buttock augmentation of 600 cc to 800 cc per buttock. If you are going in the 1200 cc to 1800 cc per buttock range, you may need 10 to 14 days. For most patients strenuous activity can be resumed in 6 weeks. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow, for the first two weeks. If they must sit, every 30 minutes or an hour, they should get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. I usually recommend about 6 weeks before sitting without a pillow. After 6 weeks the fat has revascularized, and they will have a very good idea of their final results.

The protocol at my office is back to limited cardio at 3 weeks and then weights/yoga type activity at 6 weeks. You would need to determine where your activity at works fits into that scale and go from there. Best of luck with your journey!! I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. But every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Hi, thanks for your question. Typically we recommend that you take at least one week off work following your BBL, some patients might opt for 10 days to two weeks. That said you'll have to stay off of your buttocks for at least two weeks and possibly avoid sitting on it for long periods of time for several weeks after that, so you'll have to keep all that in mind given the type of work that you do. Every surgeon has his/her own post-operative guidelines that you should follow carefully in order to ensure a full and speedy recovery and best results. Your surgeon may recommend a different time-frame for returning back to your line of work, so it would be best to discuss these and any other concerns with them as they will know the details of your case best.

I recommend my patients to allow 2-4 weeks for recovery, and to wait at least 7-10 days before going back to work, but each doctor has their own protocol.
I also recommend not to sit for more than 30 mins. every two hours, for the first 2 weeks, and always with the help of a boppy pillow. Remember that each doctor has their own protocol, it is very important that you talk to him and follow his instructions.

Typical partial recovery time for 360 lipo with BBL is around 7 days. This is also the time when stitches are removed. While you will be walking around (with some soreness) the next day or two after surgery and even more improved after a week, working-while-you-fly would be safer after 2 weeks.

The absolute least amount of time I see patients take After a BBL is three days. My recommended number of days off is five days.

Patients who want a more relaxed recovery may want to consider taking a week off.

We do recommend patients avoid sitting except for sitting on a BBL pillow for the first few weeks after the procedure.

I’m not sure if you can get away with sitting on a BBL pillow on the flight attendants seats.

It’s also not certain how much impact using the BBL pillow versus simply sitting after the procedure has on the final results.

Plastic surgeons will have different views and recommendations on all of these topics.

If you haven’t picked a plastic surgeon then I suggest doing that first and foremost. During your in person consultation you should ask that surgeon what their individual protocols and recommendations are and follow those.

I could see some providers recommending after three weeks off though personally I think 1 to 2 weeks should be sufficient and appropriate.

I’ve also had patients think the three months was an appropriate amount of time to recover.

People who are self-employed or own small businesses tend to get back to work within a few days and those who work for the post office sometimes ask for disability.
