I have my patients wear an ace wrap for 2 or 3 days after the sterile facelift dressing comes off.
If I open the neck which I typically do on most facelifts I like patients to wear a garment for 10 days after surgery to reduce swelling
Thank you for your question. This will vary depending on what was done, but we like a 4-6 week period of wearing it at varying lengths of time. I hope this helps.
This is a question best answered by the doctor who did your surgery. The answers you get on this forum may be different than what your doctor would prefer.
Facial compression garments and the like are worn for a specified period of time at the direction of the operating surgeon. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
That varies from surgeon to surgeon. Follow the recommendations of your surgery. I have my patients wear is as much as possible for one week.
Follow the recommendations of the Dr that performed your operation. We dont use compression garmets after your dressings come off. You will be healed in no time. Congrats
Recommendations and routine for care after facelift vary from surgeon to surgeon. Therefore, I strongly recommend that you follow the recommendations of your facelift surgeon. Although some doctors like these special garments, we ask our patients to use an ace bandage for ease of application and adjustment.
Opinions very widely with respect to post-op supportive garments for face and neck lifts. In my practice, after the first post-op day, I have patients wear a soft gauze and an ACE wrap. This allows for easy adjustments of size and tension, and avoids the extra pressure that some facelift-specific garments have. In most cases, I have patients wear this around the clock for about a week, then just at night for 2 more weeks. Best of luck!
There is no set rule for how long one should use the post facelift garment. Some surgeons have patients use it for 1 week, others 2 weeks, and some don't use one at all. Talking with your surgeon about the garment and it's intended use would be the best way to proceed.
