How long does swelling last after a fleur de lis tummy tuck? Does your tummy go flat as expected?

It it very common to have the swelling you are experiencing. Typically the day after a tummy tuck, whether conventional or fleur de lis, the abdomen will be quite flat. Several days later more swelling is frequently present. This may fluctuate and be more prominent at certain times during the day. Swelling will usually resolve in time(up to a year). In a rare case it could be permanent.

Thank you for your question.  You can expect for about half of your swelling to be gone at one month and the balance at 3-4 months.  You will get flatter as the swelling resolves but is unlikely that you will have a super tight abdomen in the end. Massive weight loss causes significant skin laxity which causes some recurrence despite skin tightening procedures.  Discuss these matters further with your surgeon.

Swelling should be expected. You'll notice swelling starts to subside usually around one month, with final results in six months to a year. While photos would help, usually after a big weight loss and subsequent removal of the excess skin with the tummy tuck you would get good results and a nice flat tummy.
