What can I use instead of a compression garment?

I'm 14days post tummy tuck, no lipo. I am allergic to the compression garment, and would like to know how else to help the swelling. I'm drinking lots, resting and using little salt.the swelling is hip to hip below the scar.

You can try wearing a tight shirt with no seams underneath your garment so that it doesn't come into direct contact with your skin. This may help reduce irritation.

I suggest wearing "control briefs" or bike pants.  Find something that covers the belly button and if possible goes from the groin to the ribs.  They need to be quite firm.  Usually you can buy these quite cheaply at a supermarket or department store.Another option is a "tubigrip".  This can be purchased from most pharmacies.I hope this helps.Kind regards,Dean

You should consider to wear cotton Tshirt underneath the CG, look for a CG with a very low percentage of likra or spandex or latex.You may wear in the mean time a compression wrap (30cm width) but always wearing a cotton Tshirt underneath.If for a reason you can not wear any CG, nothing will happen or nothing will go wrong with your surgery.CG purposes is to limit the swelling and help the skin to re-attach to the muscle.Dr. CARDENAS

The first thing you could try is to wear a long cotton T-shirt beneath the girdle Also make sure you have washed the garment before wearing. Otherwise you could use an abdominal binder, Spanks, or real corset, which can usually be order from a medical supply store.
