Hi @greekgirrrl516! There is an increased risk of bruising and/or bleeding with the medication. You are still able to receive fillers and botox while on this medication. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
oral medications do not affect fillers I suggest you talk to you physician as it can inrease the risk of bruising and welling so I would suggest pre/post care see emeragecosmetics.com link which we have our patients all do. Best, Dr. Emer.
Meloxicam is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory. These drugs interfere with platelet function. That means that when you are poked with a needle, you are much more likely to bruise. Generally, I ask patients to stop all of these products for 3 weeks to minimize the risk of bruising. You many find stoping Meloxicam challenging depending on why you are talking it. Always let potential injector know what medicines you are taking. If they tell you it does not matter, you are in the wrong office.
Thank you for sharing your question. No meloxicam will not impact your Botox or Volbella results. Hope this helps.
Hello and thank you for your question. Taking Meloxicam will not affect Botox injections other than possibly to cause more bruising. As with any medication, I would advise your provider before getting Botox or any other procedure. Best wishes.Dr. T
You can still receive Botox or Volbella while on Meloxicam. There is an increased risk of bruising or bleeding with the medication. Please discuss all medications and supplements with your injector prior to treatment.
Arthritis meds, including NSAID's like Meloxicam, do not effect either Botox or any filler, such as Juvederm Volbella.

This is actually quite common when someone injects Botox to the forehead region and does not try to target the muscles pulling the brow down. Take a look at our website that explains this in detail.
Once the pattern and amount of Botox has been established (which works for your cosmetic desires), you should not have to adjust the dosing each time. Sometimes patients will need a slight touch up dose of 5 units, for instance. But for the most part, the dosing should be pretty consistent.
Not really is the short answer. In most patients, the only real indicator - sensation wise - is that the muscle starts to move again. The visual cue is wrinkle formation where the Botox was injected previously.
Hello, thank you for your question. In general terms, there should be no problem with Botox injections even with a diagnosis of cancer. Be sure to ask your oncologist for his/her medical clearance , and be sure your injector is aware of your medical problems as well.
Botox it Is a wonderful option for improving wrinkles of the forehead/eyes and it can be very addictive because people love what they see. When given in certain spots, your surgeon can achieve a “chemical Brow lift” with Botox alone. There are also many other options such as laser and che...
