How long will I have fluid buildup after lipomas removed from legs?

Surgery was almost 4 week ago. The one that was size of grapefruit, ive had drained twice now. 52ccs first time and over 100cc yesterday. Already swollen and painful with fluid again.

Fluid build up is highly variable but with your history, and the large size of your lipoma you may wish to ask if your doctor would advise a seroma catheter be placed.  That would allow continuous drainage rather than the intermittent drainage which you described.  Alternative treatment options may also be discussed with your doctor including a second operation.

Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately with the size of your lipoma and dependency of the legs you are susceptible to seroma formation.  I would recommend close follow up with your surgeon, serial aspiration and compression garment therapy to progressively limit the amount of fluid collecting.  This may take several weeks to fully heal.  Hope this helps.
