Could Smart Lipo be repeated on the same area more than once?

Hi, thanks for the question.  Yes, you can repeat SL treatment on the same area.  I would wait at least 6 months before considering repeating the treatment.  For many, the need to repeat treatment depends on how much fat you are starting out with and how much fat you can accept after.  Taking too much fat can leave worse results with regard to the skin, and you can end up trading one problem (fat) for another (loose skin).

Yes, some people need more than one area of Smart Lipo to get desired results. To improve your final results with Smart Lipo, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. A photo would help. The real answer to your question is whether lipo was the solution to your problem in the first place. If your issue was fat and only fat, then lipo (smart, dumb or any other type) would be a reasonable solution and perhaps repeat lipo would still be a good idea if there's a significant amount of fat remaining 6 months or so down the line. Maybe a different surgeon. If you had loose skin, then perhaps lipo wasn't the best solution if you still have loose skin. This could have been predicted by any skilled surgeon with lipo and skin tightening experience. If it was your tummy and you had loose muscles, then a tummy tuck would have been a better solution.

Thanks for your question. Yes, and we do that from time to time. Liposuction of any type is one of those procedures that can be frustrating for surgeons and patients because it is not as precise as we'd hope for, plus the results take quite some time to be apparent.

Why would you want to do a procedure  a second time? VASER liposuction is the definitive liposuction treatment that requires one session to get transformative results as well as is the only modality that can correct botched lipo procedures or Cool sculpting deformities.

I have done Smartlipo more than once in an area with additional improvement in the area. I would wait at least 5 months between sessions, since you will continue to improve in an area for 6 months so there is no point in doing them too close together. david berman md

Yes, SmartLipo can be repeated on the same area more than once, as can other forms of liposuction. However, the more you do these procedures, the more scarring and wrinkling may occur. Best to have your concerns evaluated by your surgeon.
