Is it normal to still feel tightness a year after muscle repair & can I reverse it?

It's difficult to determine what may have occurred without an examination. If you are continuing to have tightness that is uncomfortable a year after surgery you may benefit from physical therapy or guided stretching. See your surgeon for an evaluation for what is recommended for you.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

It’s not unusual for patients to have sensations of tightness and limited range of motion early after a tummy tuck in. Most people get accustomed to the changes and things gradually improve within the first few months to a year or longer.
Attempting to reverse muscle tightening is not a good idea.
Consider stretching exercises or possibly a referral to physical therapy.
